Stem Cell Therapy / Biologics

We use a team approach to providing health care, and involve the patient as part of our team. Involvement by our staff in the community.

In addition to the typical treatment modalities some patients may benefit from other alternatives including Hyaluronic Acid injections and the injection of various Orthobiologics. Orthobiologics are natural substances—such as cells, tissues, blood components, and growth factors—that are used to enhance the healing and regeneration of orthopedic injuries or conditions. These treatments can help replace lost tissue, reduce inflammation, improve joint function, and promote healing. Orthobiologics can be sourced from your own body and are typically administered through injections. They may be used alone or alongside surgery to boost recovery. These injections may not be covered by your insurance.

They are often recommended when more conservative treatments, such as rest, medication, or physical therapy, are ineffective in managing symptoms.

What Are Hyaluronic Acid Injections?

Hyaluronic acid injections (or viscosupplementation) are used to treat joint pain, particularly in conditions like osteoarthritis. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body that lubricates joints. In arthritis, the level of hyaluronic acid decreases, causing pain and stiffness. Injecting hyaluronic acid into the joint helps restore lubrication, reduce pain, and improve joint function.

Types of Orthobiologics

  1. Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)
PRP is derived from your own blood, which is processed to concentrate platelets and growth factors that promote healing and reduce inflammation. It is injected directly into the damaged area, either during an outpatient procedure or after surgery.
  2. Stem Cell Therapy
Stem cells are natural repair cells in the body. As we age, stem cell activity may decrease. Stem cell therapy amplifies this repair system by injecting concentrated stem cells into the injured area to enhance tissue regeneration.
  3. Bone Marrow Aspiration Concentrate (BMAC)
BMAC is extracted from your pelvic bone and processed to concentrate stem cells, growth factors, and other healing elements. This concentrated solution can help promote tissue healing and reduce inflammation in damaged areas.
  4. Lipogems
Lipogems is a treatment that uses adipose (fat) tissue from your body. The fat is processed to concentrate stem cells and healing factors, which are then injected into the injury site. This technique preserves the supportive environment for stem cells, enhancing their regenerative potential.
